Accurate Payroll Professional

The purpose of this role is to provide timely and accurate processing of company payroll.
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure strict adherence to monthly deadlines for payroll processing.
- Liaise with pension schemes administrators, including auto-enrolment processing and employee requests.
- Provide training and support to line managers on the time and attendance system.
- Maintain the HR/payroll system, ensuring up-to-date functionality.
- Administer holiday purchase and voluntary unpaid leave (VULA) schemes, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Calculate and process entitlements, shutdown/bank holidays, and other relevant administration tasks.
- Reconcile accounts and arrange payment of deductions taken from payroll.
- Generate ad-hoc and scheduled reports for both payroll and time and attendance systems as required.
- Prepare annual payroll calendars, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Monitor sickness records, ensuring company sick pay is paid in line with company policy.
- Process statutory external enquiries from government offices and other external parties.
- Coordinate effective administration processes, prioritizing tasks and managing deadlines.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Prior experience in complete payroll responsibility for a medium-sized company (above 600 employees).
- Knowledge/experience of payroll/time and attendance systems, pension administration, and pension auto-enrolment.
- Ability to self-manage, prioritise tasks, and systematically complete deadlines effectively.
- Flexible approach with excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels.
- Understanding of payroll legislation and processes, including tax regulations.

The estimated salary for this position is £40,000 - £50,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
