About the Role

This exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Grid & Primary Design Engineer to join PWS Technical Services (UK) Ltd. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering our clients' schemes and contracts, working on multiple projects from initial concept and feasibility through to procurement specification, construction, and commissioning.

The ideal candidate will be an innovative, passionate, and industry-experienced professional who can manage and oversee all aspects of design during project life cycles, including design, planning, approval, construction, commissioning, and final handover.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee all aspects of design during project life cycles.
  • Design and develop Grid and Primary substations for 33kV and up to 132kV projects.
  • Approve pre-manufacturing drawings and ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Sign off/authorise protection studies and ensure systems are secure and reliable.

Requirements:

  • Possess an HNC or equivalent in a relevant or related discipline.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and be willing to travel where required.
  • Have expertise in primary substation design (11kV to 132 kV including plant specification).
  • Be aware and understand of Power Transformer Design and procurement.
