Location: Based in Gloucester, South West England

Estimated Salary: £25,124 pro rata based on 37 hours per week, or £15,278 salary based on 22.5 hours

We are seeking a skilled and empathetic Later Life Support Specialist to join our team at GET STAFFED ONLINE RECRUITMENT LIMITED. As a key member of our Help Team, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to older adults and those who care for them.

About the Role:

  • Respond to enquiries about later life from the public via phone, email, outreach settings in the community, and occasional home visits, providing an actively listening ear and emotional support.
  • Provide information and advice on sources of support, enabling individuals to identify suitable solutions and make informed decisions.
  • Making referrals and applications to statutory and voluntary sector services locally and nationally on behalf of clients, where necessary.
  • Initial welfare benefits checks covering pensions, means-tested benefits, and disability-related benefits relevant to those of state pension age.
  • Identify opportunities for wider projects to support clients and make introductions accordingly.
  • Maintain proportionate records of all contacts in line with GDPR to aid monitoring and case history collection.

Requirements:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to actively listen and connect people to the support they require.
  • Patience and willingness to share time with others, with strong organisation skills to make effective use of time and keep excellent records.
  • A positive attitude towards ageing and motivation to support people across Gloucestershire to live their best later lives.
  • Experience working with older people, through employment, volunteering, or lived experience.
  • Interest in understanding everyone's unique experience and willingness to consider new ways of working.
