Technical Manager / Specialist for Food Manufacturing

Our client, a leading food manufacturer with a strong presence in the UK and international markets, is seeking an experienced Technical Manager / Specialist for an interim or fixed-term position (3 – 6 months).

The successful candidate will report into the Head of Technical and be responsible for supporting the technical department in managing key technical relationships with major retail partners, including conducting site visits, collaborating with the Quality Systems Manager to maintain and enhance Quality and Food Safety Systems, and ensuring the site is prepared for BRC audits.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Support the technical department in managing key technical relationships with major retail partners
  2. Conduct site visits and collaborate with the Quality Systems Manager to maintain and enhance Quality and Food Safety Systems
  3. Ensure the site is prepared for BRC audits
  4. Provide technical support across the technical team

The ideal candidate will have a degree or diploma in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related discipline, strong people skills, mentoring and coaching experience, and proven experience managing technical relationships with major retailers.

Additionally, the candidate should have HACCP Lead Auditor certification, with exposure to TACCP/VACCP, extensive experience in Quality/Food Safety auditing and management, and proficiency in Quality and Food Safety Management Systems.
