Job Title: Technical Manager Food

We are seeking an experienced Technical Manager / Specialist to join our client, a prominent food manufacturer with a strong presence in both the UK and international markets.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will report into the Head of Technical and will be responsible for supporting the technical department in managing key technical relationships with major retail partners. This will involve conducting site visits, collaborating with the Quality Systems Manager to maintain and enhance Quality and Food Safety Systems, and ensuring the site is prepared for BRC audits.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the technical department in managing key technical relationships with major retail partners
  • Conduct site visits and collaborate with the Quality Systems Manager to maintain and enhance Quality and Food Safety Systems
  • Ensure the site is prepared for BRC audits
  • Mentor and onboard new team members to ensure a seamless integration
Requirements:
  • Degree or diploma in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related discipline
  • Strong people skills, mentoring and coaching
  • Proven experience managing technical relationships with major retailers
  • HACCP Lead Auditor certification, with exposure to TACCP/VACCP would be ideal
  • Extensive experience in Quality/Food Safety auditing and management
  • Proficient in Quality and Food Safety Management Systems
  • Ideally, proven experience in microbiological monitoring and methods
  • Familiarity with Food Safety legislation (e.g., FDA, EFSA, ISO)
