Duties of a Controls Software Engineer:

  • As a vital member of our team, you will be required to create bespoke automation solutions for our manufacturing requirements.
  • The role requires you to undertake Plc design, programming, commissioning, alongside providing support throughout the complete project lifecycle.
  • On occasions, you may also be asked to support with the robot programming, vision systems, and have an understanding of good manufacturing practice guidelines.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal staff to design concepts that meet requirements.
  • Assist in developing cost estimates for proposals.
  • Create validation documentation, including software design specifications, test records, and supporting documentation like O&M manuals, software releases, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Design, code, commission, test, and provide aftermarket support for our bespoke machinery worldwide.
  • Conduct system validation, including Factory Acceptance Testing, and oversee validation.

Requirements of a Controls Software Engineer:

  • Proven experience designing Plc software alongside supporting existing applications.
  • Competent with communication protocols (e.g., EtherCAT, Profinet, CAN, IP, Serial, etc.).
  • Competent with IEC 61131-3, C#, Java, or Structured Text.
