Job Title: Design and Development Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled Design and Development Professional to join our team at BAE Systems. As a member of our Propulsor Team, you will be responsible for designing and developing propulsors across multiple platforms.

Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience

About the Role:

  1. You will be involved in the design of composite structures and ensuring compliance through written calculations and reports
  2. You will undertake peer review checking activities to approve methods and calculations
  3. You will lead and support the identification and rapid closure of issues emerging from all product lifecycle stages
  4. You will support technical development and research activities, methods, and acceptance criterion, liaising with industrial partners and external customers as necessary
  5. You will provide realistic programme status, identify problem areas, and implement agreed recovery plans
  6. You will support junior engineers within the team
  7. You will support installation activities in the production environment

Your Skills and Qualifications:

Essential

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree (or related STEM degree)
  • Understanding of material strength properties (elastic and plastic properties)

The Propulsor Team:

The Propulsor Team are responsible for supporting the design, manufacture, and in-service support for propulsors across multiple platforms. The team uses various pieces of design software as well as being involved in manufacturing and installation activities. The team provides a full cradle to grave level of support to all things related to propulsors.
