Job Title: Commercial Account Broker

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Account Broker to join our team at Lawes Consulting Group. As a Commercial Account Broker, you will be responsible for generating documents for new customers, as well as any mid-term adjustments and renewal information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to our clients, ensuring that their needs are met and exceeded.
  • Document Generation: Generate documents for new customers, including mid-term adjustments and renewal information.
  • Record Keeping: Record all customer details accurately and input them into our system promptly to maintain data integrity.
  • Renewal Management: Obtain renewal terms for customers, exploring alternative options before providing the optimal solution.
  • Policy Management: Prepare renewal closings based on meeting minutes and ensure coverage is bound by the renewal date.
  • Query Resolution: Address insurer and customer queries regarding their policies, confirming coverage with relevant insurers and processing policies as needed.
  • Account Management: Handle account queries and credit control matters, highlighting any concerns as necessary.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to fundamental legal and regulatory policies related to internal policies and the insurance contract as required.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience handling commercial lines insurance business, ideally gained in a broking, MGA, or insurer environment.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of managing mid-market to corporate clients would be beneficial, although candidates from SME backgrounds who aspire to work with larger clients will also be considered.
  • Industry Knowledge: Previous experience in the insurance industry is essential, along with a track record of working towards targets within a regulated, measurable framework and achieving SLAs.
  • Skills: Candidates should demonstrate risk awareness in handling customer information and prioritize a customer-centric approach, always aiming for the best possible outcome for our clients' customers.
  • Personal Qualities: They should be diligent and process-driven, able to meet deadlines, task-focused, results-oriented, and proactive in assisting team members.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary, with confidence in building and maintaining rapport.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong planning and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy, are also essential.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office is required, and experience with Acturis would be advantageous.
  • Eligibility: Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK.

Qualifications:

  • CII Qualifications: Holding or working towards one of the Chartered Insurance Institute Qualifications, Cert CII, Dip CII or ACII.
  • Education: Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent, with an intermediate knowledge of the commercial insurance industry.
