About the Position

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Lead to join our team in Derby. This is a permanent position with rotating shifts.

As a key member of our UK Services business, you will be responsible for undertaking corrective and preventative maintenance, servicing, complex fault finding, and repair of Hitachi rolling stock assets.

Key Responsibilities

The job involves:

  • Undertaking planned and unplanned maintenance activities.
  • Confirming that traction and rolling stock assets comply with operational specifications.
  • Reading and extracting information from traction and rolling stock drawings and specifications.
  • Preparing for and undertaking the removal and replacement of traction and rolling stock components.
  • Modifying or manufacturing traction and rolling stock components using hand tools.
  • Installing, assembling traction and rolling stock components using engineering processes and techniques.
  • Identifying, assessing, and rectifying defects and discrepancies on Hitachi rolling stock assets.
  • Creating technical scopes of work for fault rectification by other staff members.
  • Supporting reliability technicians with regards to reliability improvements to rolling stock assets.
  • Attending and providing technical support with failures in service when on duty.
  • Maintaining the SAP record system up to date with clear and concise information of work carried out.
  • Maintaining the condition of the work site, materials, and equipment.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • M & E HNC or served apprenticeship with mechanical, electrical disciplines, or
  • Engineering-based NVQ level 3
