Job Overview

This exciting opportunity has arisen for a Support Worker to join our team at one of our Children's Homes in Southeast London. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in promoting the independence, choice, and dignity of the young people in your care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing emotional and social support to build meaningful relationships with the children and encouraging their interaction with peers and adults within the community.
  • Enhancing self-esteem and respect by helping each young person develop a positive self-image and ensuring they feel respected and valued.
  • Promoting positive life choices and independence by supporting the children in making positive decisions and achieving levels of independence appropriate to their age and abilities.
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed records of events, observations, progress, child protection matters, and health and safety checks.
  • Collaborating with the manager and other professionals to create, implement, and review individual care plans based on the children's needs.
  • Assisting the children with their daily living needs in accordance with their care plans.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 1 year's experience working with children and/or young people in a residential childcare or teaching setting.
  • NVQ level 3 Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification.
  • Full Enhanced DBS disclosure required for this role.
  • Computer literate and able to use software packages relevant to the role.
Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this role is £11.44 per hour, with opportunities for career development and progression. We offer a range of benefits, including pension scheme, sick and maternity pay, and entertainment benefits.
