About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Manager to join our team at Wade Macdonald. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring our finance team, ensuring strong financial controls, and providing financial analysis to support business improvement and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor the finance team, enhancing financial understanding across site management teams.
- Ensure strong financial controls and compliance with tax regulations and financial reporting standards.
- Oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts and annual statutory accounts.
- Manage the balance sheet, cashflow, and the annual budgeting process.
- Provide financial analysis to support business improvement and decision-making.
- Manage relationships with HMRC and ensure timely, accurate submission of returns.
- Lead the annual statutory audit process and ensure adherence to best practices.
- Present financial performance reports and KPIs to senior management and budget holders.
About the Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with significant experience in financial management, ideally within a large SME environment. Strong leadership skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to communicate complex financial data to non-finance stakeholders are essential. You should also have a passion for continuous improvement and delivering results.
