As a Mechanical / Piping Workpack Engineer at Wood, you will be responsible for converting engineering designs into construction workpacks. Your primary goal will be to produce construction deliverables that meet the required technical standards, ensuring a smooth transition from design to construction.
Key Responsibilities- Develop construction workpacks from engineering designs, ensuring compliance with technical standards.
- Collaborate with the project team to optimize construction knowledge and experience, reducing costs, improving quality, safety, and productivity.
- Assist in the development of the project execution plan, bid submissions, and construction methodology.
- Provide construction technical support to the customer and the Wood engineering team throughout the FEED and detailed design phases.
- Work with project controls to develop the build sequence and construction schedule, proactively managing risks.
- Typically minimum qualified to ISCED Level 5 (technical diploma / apprenticeship) or equivalent combination of qualifications and experience.
- Appropriate level of construction experience in the relevant industry sector.
- Good technical knowledge of construction discipline and associated processes.
- Ability to identify risks to delivery and build mitigation / contingency plans.
- Proven experience of interpreting discipline documentation.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of Risk Assessments (RA), Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOPS), and Hazard Identification Studies (HAZIDS).
- Good interpersonal, organisational, communication, and team building skills.
- Safety-first mindset, taking personal responsibility for the safety of self and others.
- Well-organised, logical, and thorough in approach.
- Interaction with others requires social skills and the ability to understand and influence.
