Job Title: Principal Projects Manager

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Principal Projects Manager to join our team at Warrington Borough Council. As a key member of our Transport for Warrington Service area, you will be responsible for the efficient and effective design and delivery of numerous projects in support of the Council's Local Transport Plan and capital investment programme.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical design, procurement, and supervision of a wide range of engineering and sustainable travel projects within the borough.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external bodies to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Develop and maintain excellent interpersonal and communication skills to maintain professional standards and create good working relationships.
  • Contribute to the development of highways and transport expertise within the Council.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in highway design projects, with the ability to demonstrate all aspects from initial concept to detailed design to construction on site.
  • Strong technical knowledge and skills in highway design and transportation planning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English.
