About the Opportunity

This is a unique chance for someone with teaching and support experience to develop their skills in special educational needs.

You will be placed in local schools catering to children with designated Education Health Care Plans, providing individualized care and support.

The role offers a diverse environment with varying ages and abilities, utilizing different teaching strategies to achieve positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver personalized support to pupils, adhering to tailored curriculums
  2. Collaborate with teachers to deliver lessons and activities focused on life skills
  3. Facilitate pupil participation in trips, applying theoretical knowledge to practical situations
  4. Provide behaviorally based support to minimize negative impacts on quality of life
  5. Offer personal care, promoting acceptable hygiene levels (toileting, feeding)
  6. Maintain accurate records of pupil progress, ensuring teaching meets each child's specific needs
  7. Assist with break time duties, including playground supervision and snack time
Requirements

We are seeking individuals with:

  • Professional, personal, or voluntary experience working with children and disabilities
  • Grade C/4 GCSE in English Language & Maths or equivalent
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviors and provide intimate care when necessary
  • Skill to remain composed under pressure
  • UK Driver's License and access to transportation (desired but not required)

Salary: £22,100-£26,000 per annum, FTE, available in various contract types, including day-to-day, short-term, long-term, and permanent positions.
