Financial Assessment Officer

The Role:
We are seeking an experienced Financial Assessment Visiting Officer to join our Adult Social Care team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for completing timely and accurate financial assessments for customers to establish contributions to their care fees.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting individuals in completing their financial assessment forms, either over the telephone or in person.
- Providing accurate benefits advice to enable individuals to maximise their income.
- Working closely with our Welfare Benefits Team, Brokerage and Social Work Teams, as well as Invoice and Billing and Debt Recovery staff.
- Identifying and escalating any safeguarding concerns as appropriate.
About You:
Applicants will have an excellent understanding of the Care Act, specifically the elements relating to charging for services and financial assessments.
A high-quality customer care and communication skillset is essential, as is experience of dealing with a diverse group of customers.
You will be a good communicator and possess good numerical skills, able to work as part of a busy team but also independently, managing your own caseload of work and working to deadlines.

An enhanced DBS check will be required for this post, and a car user allowance is available.
