Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Clinical Fellow to join our Fertility Centre at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop advanced clinical competence in the management of infertility and assisted conception, supervised by our experienced fertility consultants.

The clinical role involves day-to-day assessment and management of infertility, ultrasound scanning, assisted conception procedures, and outpatient clinics.

The post holder will be responsible for coordinating clinical, teaching, and research meetings, maintaining ongoing audits, and clinical guideline development.

Previous experience and basic competency in gynaecology ultrasound are desirable but not essential.

The appointment is for 12 months, subject to a satisfactory review at 6 months.

Main Duties of the Job

  • Be present and prepared each morning for briefing sessions led by the consultant for the day.
  • Trans abdominal and transvaginal scanning.
  • Be present and prepared for multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Set up and coordinate fertility treatments, especially IVF.
  • Organise and manage NHS funding of fertility treatment in collaboration with the patient liaison officer.
  • Database update and clinical audit.
  • Review all patients of the Unit who have been admitted as inpatients on the gynaecology ward on a daily basis.
  • Outpatient sessions in general infertility and IVF.
  • Participation in the Quality Management program within TFC.
  • Perform some procedures in the treatment room.
  • Ensure the continued running of the service.

Person Specification

  • Full Registration with the GMC.
  • Degree in medicine MRCOG part 1.
  • 3 year's experience in the UK in general O&G.
  • Infertility/IVF management.
  • Gynaecological ultrasound - basic competencies in transvaginal and transabdominal scanning.
  • Experience of audit or quality improvement projects.
  • Good written and spoken English.
