Materials Science Leadership Position

We are seeking a highly skilled leader to join our team at Sandberg. As a leading engineering consultancy, testing and inspection services provider with over 160 years of experience, we have a diverse portfolio that includes prominent projects.

This role involves leading and developing our well-established Construction Materials Department, based at our laboratories in London. As a high-level position reporting directly to the Managing Partner, you will be responsible for managing six staff members and advising on the testing of various construction materials.

The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of concrete, strong English language skills, and the ability to handle multiple live projects simultaneously. Key responsibilities include:

  • Advising on and overseeing the testing of concretes, aggregates, renders, mortars, stone, brick, screeds, and flooring materials.
  • Managing and leading the department, including six staff members.

The estimated salary for this position is £90,000 per annum.

Essential Requirements:
  • Expertise in construction materials testing.
  • Significant previous experience in similar activities.
  • Extensive knowledge of concrete.
  • Strong English language skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to handle multiple live projects simultaneously.
