Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced SEND educator to join our team as a SEND Education Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality educational services to children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This will involve teaching a range of subjects, planning lessons and activities, and supporting students with their work in a class setting.
Main Responsibilities:
Teaching and Curriculum:
The SEND Education Specialist will be responsible for teaching a range of subjects to students with SEND. This will involve planning and delivering lessons, as well as assessing student progress and adapting teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
Classroom Support:
The successful candidate will also provide support to students with their work in a class setting. This may involve assisting with tasks, providing additional support for students who require it, and helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Behaviour Management:
The SEND Education Specialist will be responsible for managing difficult behaviours and implementing the school behaviour policy. This will involve working with students to develop positive relationships, using behaviour management strategies to support students who are struggling, and collaborating with colleagues to develop effective behaviour management plans.
Pastoral Care:
The successful candidate will also have pastoral responsibility for a group of students. This will involve getting to know students as individuals, providing support and guidance to help them achieve their goals, and working with colleagues to develop effective pastoral care strategies.
Leadership:
The SEND Education Specialist may also have the opportunity to lead in a subject area. This will involve developing and implementing subject area plans, leading professional development opportunities for colleagues, and collaborating with colleagues to develop effective subject area strategies.

Salary:
The salary for this role is £35,000-£45,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Location:
The role will be based in Nottingham.
