About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as an ELSA Teaching Assistant in a welcoming primary school located in Caerphilly. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing individual and small group support to children with emotional, social, and behavioural needs.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with children in a primary school setting, preferably in an ELSA or similar role, and possess a Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning. They will also have knowledge and understanding of emotional literacy and mental health issues affecting children.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide tailored strategies and interventions to support children's emotional and social development.
  2. Work collaboratively with the SENCo and teaching staff to monitor pupil progress and adapt support where necessary.
  3. Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment for all pupils.
  4. Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies as required to ensure the best possible support for each child.
