Are you looking for a new challenge within the ever-growing Housing Sector? We are recruiting on behalf of a national mental health charity to work within one of their supported housing services in Caerphilly.

They support people who experience challenges with their mental health to achieve their goals and develop the skills & confidence to move on to their own tenancies with independence.

As a Housing Support Worker you will be responsible for providing social, emotional, and practical support to people experiencing challenges with their mental health and emotional wellbeing that could impact their ability to maintain a stable tenancy.

- Hours: Full-time (33 hours per week)
- Rate of Pay: £11.26 inc holiday pay

Required experience, knowledge, qualifications, and training:

- Knowledge of trauma-informed practice, attachment theory and relationship-based approaches.
- Experience of working within the mental health sector and/or supporting people experiencing emotional distress.
- Experience of involving people accessing services in the design and development of the services they used with a strong focus on listening to people with lived experiences.
- Excellent communication skills
- Understanding of safeguarding for adults.
- Self-awareness and willingness to engage in reflective practice and ongoing personal development.
- Experience as a supported housing support worker and knowledge of current welfare and housing benefits will be an advantage but not essential.

What you’ll need to be successful as a Housing Support Worker
- A desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable people suffering from their mental health
- Empathetic, caring and resilient nature
- At least 6 months experience of working with children or within a similar Social Care setting
- Valid UK Driving Licence
- Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to obtain one
- The right to work in the UK

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift
- No weekends

- Weekends only

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Caerphilly: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
