About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Electrical Supervisor to join our team at HMP Chelmsford. The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical maintenance and experience of leading teams of electricians and general maintenance staff.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the smooth and safe operation of the electrical service delivery on site, ensuring that all work is carried out to the highest standards and within budget. They will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records and reports, and for identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of electricians and general maintenance staff to deliver electrical maintenance services on site.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of electrical maintenance tasks to ensure they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of electrical maintenance activities, including costs and completion times.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and implement changes to electrical maintenance processes and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination of electrical maintenance activities.

Requirements

  • A minimum of five years' experience as an Electrician, ideally within an FM environment and/or secure environment, military, health or similar sectors.
  • Qualifications equivalent to C&G 2367 or 2357 (Electrical Installation) and NVQ level 3 in Electrical Installations.
  • Experience working on commercial or industrial electrical or building service systems.
  • Previous experience leading teams of Electricians and General Maintenance staff, taking operational responsibility for the Electrical service delivery on the site.
  • A certificate in BS7671 - The Requirements for Electrical Installations, 17th or 18th edition.
  • A rounded knowledge of risk and compliance and demonstrable planning & project management skills.
  • Good Health & Safety knowledge.
  • Excellent organisational, time management and people skills.

What We Offer

  • An estimated salary of £50,000-£65,000 per annum.
  • Holidays are 25 days per year plus Bank Holidays.
