Job Summary:

Menzies Distribution is seeking an experienced HGV/LGV Class 1 Driver/Shunter to provide a high-quality service in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough vehicle and trailer safety checks prior to each shift, adhering to company procedures and documentation.
  • Ensure vehicle loads are secure, safe, and correctly positioned.
  • Verify load documentation and delivery paperwork accurately.
  • Check in returned goods and ensure accurate paperwork.
  • Maintain effective communication with the Traffic Office at all times.
  • Ensure vehicle cleanliness and adhere to safe working practices.
  • Operate vehicles safely, avoiding hazards and ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Perform other reasonable job instructions to support the delivery of a quality service to customers.
  • Ratchet, strap, and manage corner loads efficiently.

Requirements:

  • A valid UK C+E licence.
  • At least 12 months of previous Class 1 driving experience.
  • Previous shunting experience is desirable.
  • No more than 6 points on your driving licence.
  • No previous disqualifications.
  • Good knowledge of drivers' hours and WTD regulations.
  • This role may require physical effort, so applicants should consider this when applying.
