At Menzies Distribution, we are seeking an experienced HGV/LGV Class 1 Driver/Shunter to provide a first-class service in Knowsley.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out vehicle and trailer safety checks prior to commencement of shift, adhering to relevant documentation and procedures.
  • Ensure vehicle load is safe, secure, and correctly positioned.
  • Verify load documentation and delivery paperwork.
  • Check in returned goods and ensure accurate paperwork.
  • Maintain communication with the Traffic Office at all times.
  • Ensure vehicle cleanliness, using all equipment safely as specified in operating procedures.
  • Operate vehicle safely, avoiding actions that endanger self or other road users.
  • Comply with safe working practices at all times.
  • Undertake any other reasonable job instruction to support the supply of a quality service to the customer.
  • Ratchet, strap, and corner management.

Requirements:

  • A full UK C+E licence.
  • 12 months previous Class 1 driving experience.
  • Previous shunting experience (desirable).
  • No more than 6 points on your licence.
  • No previous disqualifications.
  • Good knowledge of drivers' hours and WTD regulations.
  • This role can be physically demanding, so we ask you to consider this when applying.
