CNC Turning/Boring Machinist Role

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced CNC Turning/Boring Machinist to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce complex and precise components according to specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Setup and operate CNC machines to produce precision parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Interpret sketches and CAD/CAM files to determine machining operations, sequences, and dimensions.
  • Select appropriate tools, cutting speeds, and feeds for each job to optimize efficiency and quality.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machinery and ensure that machines are in good working order.
  • Conduct quality inspections of machined parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Collaborate with engineers, programmers, and other team members to improve machining processes and production efficiency.
Requirements:
  • Technical or vocational training in machining (preferred but not essential).
  • Experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in reading technical drawings and CAD/CAM files.
  • Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, and materials.
  • Experience with CNC programming and troubleshooting (a plus).
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • A highly competitive salary (£32,000 - £40,000 per annum) depending on experience.
