We are seeking a skilled Governance Lawyer to join our team at Venn Group.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a wide range of stakeholders, including elected members, officers, and commissioners, in a midlands-based Local Authority.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice to client departments on governance and corporate matters, ensuring compliance with statutory duties and obligations.
  • Support the senior legal team in protecting the best interests of the Council.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to achieve shared goals.

Requirements

  • Qualified solicitor/barrister with current practising certificate or FCILEX status.
  • Experience or knowledge of governance procedures within a Local Authority.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to handle multiple workstreams.
