Sector: Container Haulage &/or Curtain Side Work

Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Class 1 HGV Driver to operate from our Essex base, covering a range of container haulage and curtain side work. This is a full-time position with the option of day or night shifts, operating from Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Class 1 vehicles for container haulage and curtain side work, ensuring timely and safe deliveries.
  • Load, unload, and secure cargo in compliance with safety standards.
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
  • Plan routes effectively and ensure timely delivery to various locations.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle checks.
  • Comply with all transport laws, regulations, and company procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with the logistics team and other drivers to meet deadlines.
  • Provide excellent customer service when delivering goods to clients.
Requirements
  • Valid Class 1 (C+E) HGV licence.
  • Driver CPC Qualification Card and Digital Tachograph Card.
  • Minimum of 1 year of Class 1 driving experience (preferred but not essential).
  • Experience in both container haulage and curtain side operations is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of UK driving regulations and road networks.
  • Strong understanding of load safety and securing procedures.
  • Good communication skills and a professional attitude.
  • Flexibility to work days or nights as required.
