Job Overview:We are seeking a reliable and experienced Class 1 HGV Driver to join our team in Essex. The role involves a combination of container haulage and curtain side work, ensuring timely and safe deliveries across the region. This is a full-time position with the option of day or night shifts, operating from Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities:- Safely Operate Class 1 Vehicles: Safely operate Class 1 vehicles for container haulage and curtain side work.
- Load and Unload Cargo: Load, unload, and secure cargo in compliance with safety standards.
- Vehicle Inspections: Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
- Route Planning: Plan routes effectively and ensure timely delivery to various locations.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle checks.
- Compliance: Comply with all transport laws, regulations, and company procedures.
- Teamwork: Work collaboratively with the logistics team and other drivers to meet deadlines.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service when delivering goods to clients.
- Valid Class 1 Licence: Valid Class 1 (C+E) HGV licence.
- Driver Qualifications: Driver CPC Qualification Card and Digital Tachograph Card.
- Driving Experience: Minimum of 1 year of Class 1 driving experience (preferred but not essential).
- Container Haulage Experience: Experience in both container haulage and curtain side operations is advantageous.
- Knowledge of UK Regulations: Knowledge of UK driving regulations and road networks.
- Load Safety: Strong understanding of load safety and securing procedures.
- Communication Skills: Good communication skills and a professional attitude.
- Flexibility: Flexibility to work days or nights as required.
- Competitive Hourly Rates: Competitive hourly rates based on shift type.
