Lead Pricing Model Developer

AXA XL, a leading provider of insurance and reinsurance solutions, is seeking a talented and experienced Lead Pricing Model Developer to join our dynamic Pricing & Analytics team.

We are embarking on an exciting journey to develop a cutting-edge cloud-based platform for hosting pricing tools. This platform will revolutionize our approach to pricing by enhancing accuracy, consistency, and performance. As the Lead Developer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping this platform, improving model code, and promoting best coding practices.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Spearhead the development of the pricing model platform, encompassing standardized UI components, pricing APIs, data capture mechanisms, and robust model versioning systems.
  • Provide comprehensive documentation for actuaries to develop pricing tools, establishing a unified framework that leverages best practices across the organization.
  • Empower faster development and scalability of pricing tools by streamlining workflows and promoting modular design principles.
  • Enhance calibration measurement and recalibration capabilities for pricing models, ensuring their ongoing accuracy and relevance.
  • Improve data capture consistency and reusability through standardized processes and efficient data management practices.
  • Facilitate seamless integration with third-party services and internal systems, expanding the platform's functionality and reach.
  • Elevate the user experience in pricing models by designing intuitive interfaces and simplifying complex workflows.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with various teams to collaboratively design and implement innovative solutions.
  • Supervise junior resources during the migration of existing pricing models to the new platform, ensuring a smooth transition.
  • Create technical documentation for pricing models within the platform, fostering knowledge sharing and transparency.

Your Profile:

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a proven track record in insurance pricing and a passion for developing cutting-edge solutions.

  • Demonstrated experience in insurance pricing methodologies and commercial pricing models.
  • Exceptional communication skills, enabling you to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as R/Python, Shiny, SQL, and VBA, along with a collaborative approach to working with other technical teams.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or a related field is essential.
  • Strategic thinking skills coupled with a passion for innovation and a drive to continuously improve processes.
  • A pragmatic and results-oriented mindset, focused on delivering high-quality solutions that meet business objectives.
