Strategic Business Planning Role

About the Role:

The Integrated Business Planning Lead will be a key member of the Enterprise Performance Group staff, accountable for the Integrated Business Planning system for Raytheon UK.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement an effective Integrated Business Planning system, ensuring seamless integration with existing processes and tools.
  2. Lead the development and maintenance of the IBP system, processes, and output reports, ensuring data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
  3. Collaborate with Mission Area and core demand stakeholders to capture and communicate business requirements for the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Long Range Plan (LRP).
  4. Oversee the process for coordinated early planning and interlock of investment, infrastructure, and resources plans to enable delivery of business plans.
  5. Ensure effective Sales and Operations Planning & Execution processes to enable end-to-end planning and execution in support of Operations and Functional leadership.
  6. Manage effective prioritization, preparation, and approval of internal Operational and Capital Expense (OPEX & CAPEX) change projects across the matrix Functions.
  7. Ensure effective change management of the IBP for scenario planning and when the AOP or LRP is formally updated.
  8. Manage effective Workload Forecast Planning to closely match business demand with resource availability.
  9. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly review business performance against these metrics, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
  10. Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the IBP process, utilizing best practices and innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Candidate Requirements:

Essential:

  1. Demonstrable ability to implement and manage an IBP system, including S&OP/E and resource planning.
  2. Understanding of core business performance measures and the management actions required to control them.
  3. At least 12 years of relevant, recent, demonstrable experience of successful performance in a highly regulated and/or controlled environment.
  4. Proven ability as a team player who works well with others and builds lasting, constructive relationships across the business.
  5. Demonstrate role model cultural behaviors, supportive and able to navigate sensitive and pressurized situations.
  6. A capable leader and influencer, able to effect change through the matrix organization.
  7. Proficiency in planning and forecasting software, as well as ERP systems and reporting/visualization tools, specifically Power BI.
  8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  9. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience in data-driven decision-making.
  10. Able communicator in verbal, written, and presentational forms including at board level.
  11. Full UK national, able to achieve UK SC clearance.

  2. Having held a business leadership team role in a high-performing organization.
  3. Degree qualified in a technical or project management related discipline, or with equivalent non-academic experience.
  4. Interested in continuous professional development of self and others.
  5. Able to engage with technical experts with credibility and understanding.
  6. Drive to create change and continuously improve performance, creative and open to innovation in order to solve complex problems.
