Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Staff Nurse to join our team in the Medicine department at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. As a rotational nurse, you will have the opportunity to work in various areas within the Acute Floor and the brand new Louisa Martindale Building, including the Emergency Department, Acute Admissions Unit, and Acute Medical and Endocrine Ward.

This is an exciting opportunity for newly qualified nurses and experienced nurses to create their own bespoke rotational post, choosing three areas to rotate around over 18 to 24 months. We are flexible and can accommodate most requests, offering rotations in areas such as Elderly Care wards, Acute Respiratory Ward, and Acute Frailty Ward.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide effective, safe, and evidence-based patient care in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Code of Conduct.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care.
  • Process admissions and transfers, and plan discharges in accordance with UHSussex policy and standards.
  • Participate in the promotion of education for patients, relatives, and colleagues.
  • Ensure the provision of all prescribed drugs, including parenteral administration.
