Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant for Primary Schools

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in Leicester. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting young learners with additional needs in various primary school settings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to SEN pupils, helping them comprehend lessons and engage in classroom activities.
  • Work closely with teachers to monitor progress and report on student development.
  • Utilize knowledge of complex behaviors linked to Autism, Mental Health Needs, and Learning Difficulties to create personalized support plans.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a warm, inclusive, and active school community.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with SEN learners.
  • A clean and relevant DBS (can be obtained through GSL Education if required).
  • Knowledge of behavioral management techniques.
  • A committed and enthusiastic attitude to work.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to form new relationships.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working in primary schools.
  • Safeguarding certificate.
  • Good knowledge of different forms of SEN.
  • Degree in Psychology (will be given preference).
