Job Title: Primary SEN Teaching Assistant

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate Primary SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team of professionals in supporting young learners with special educational needs in various school settings based in Leicester.

This is a full-time position that requires a commitment to providing personalized support to students with complex needs, including Autism, Mental Health Needs, and Learning Difficulties. The successful candidate will work closely with a team of dedicated professionals to ensure the students receive the support they need to engage in lessons and make progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support to students with SEN, helping them to comprehend lessons and engage in classroom activities.
  • Monitor student progress and report to the class teacher.
  • Work with the team to develop and implement strategies to support students with complex needs.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience working with SEN learners.
  • A clean and relevant DBS (can be obtained through GSL Education if required).
  • Knowledge of behavioral management techniques.
  • A committed and enthusiastic attitude to work.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to form new relationships.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience working in primary schools.
  • Safeguarding certificate.
  • Good knowledge of different forms of SEN.
  • Degree in Psychology (will be given preference).
