Job Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled Court Support Specialist to join our team at Hatched Recruitment Group. As a specialist, you will be working closely with the Youth Offending Court Team in the Birmingham area, supporting them in fulfilling their statutory responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  1. The ideal candidate will work with the Youth Offending Service to promote quality work in partnership with the Criminal Justice Agencies and the Judiciary.
  2. They will undertake assessments, including safeguarding and vulnerability, to determine the appropriateness of placements for children and young people entering the secure estate.
  3. As a representative of the Youth Offending Service, they will promote its aims within the Court setting and reflect principles of equality of treatment and sensitivity to individual needs.
  4. Additionally, they will act as an advisor to the Youth Offending Teams in matters related to the Youth, Magistrates, and Crown Court.

Requirements:

  1. Applicants must have experience working within the Criminal Justice setting, applying risk frameworks.
  2. They should also have experience working with young people who offend and their families.
  3. Familiarity with meeting the needs of diverse racial and cultural communities and young women is essential.
  4. Excellent report-writing skills are necessary, as is experience undertaking assessments, including safeguarding and vulnerability.
