About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Community Liaison Specialist to join our team at SPEAR. In this challenging yet rewarding role, you will be responsible for delivering an effective service to single people who are currently rough sleeping.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular outreach shifts to identify and engage with rough sleepers, providing high-quality support services in line with SPEAR's policies and procedures.
  • Assess client needs, refer to appropriate support services, and secure suitable accommodation, taking into account cultural requirements of the Roma community.
  • Establish partnerships with multi-disciplinary teams and agencies to advocate for welfare rights, immigration issues, and other support needs of Roma individuals.
  • Provide guidance on finances, including benefit claims and debt issues, liaising with relevant agencies.
Requirements
  • A strong understanding of homelessness issues, particularly those affecting the Roma community.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Knowledge of local support services and networks, with the capacity to build relationships and facilitate referrals.
  • A clear understanding of the importance of culturally sensitive practice when working with clients from diverse backgrounds.
Benefits
  • A competitive salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum.
  • 34 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays), increasing with length of service.
