About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Science Lead - Statistical Modeling to join our team at ENGINEERINGUK. As a key member of our Biostatistics function, you will play a critical role in driving scientific discovery and advancing our understanding of complex biological systems.

About the Team

You will work closely with a talented team of scientists and researchers, collaborating on challenging projects and contributing to the development of new statistical methods and techniques.

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Working with scientists and leaders to identify and define scientific objectives that benefit from statistical approaches
  • Crafting experiments with clear objectives that address important scientific queries
  • Analyzing data using established statistical methods and developing novel methods to address important scientific questions
  • Influencing statistical strategy within and across projects and research initiatives
  • Representing Research Statistics on cross-department Biostatistics initiatives
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A PhD in statistics, biostatistics, or a closely related field with formal statistical training
  • At least 5 years (post PhD) of professional experience as a statistician
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in advanced statistical modeling and/or modern machine learning techniques
  • At least 6 years of experience writing code in R or SAS
Estimated Salary

The estimated salary for this role is £90,000 - £120,000 per annum, depending on experience.
