The Role:

We provide individuals with practical and emotional care, enabling them to lead an ordinary life. To achieve this, you will need to be flexible, working shifts including bank holidays, weekends, and potential sleep ins. If you possess positivity, friendliness, and innovation, this job is for you.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the day-to-day implementation of individual support plans and activities
  • Maintain effective communication and liaison with service users, families, and others while respecting confidentiality
  • Support service users with meal preparation, laundry duties, cleaning, and social events
  • Maintain accurate notes and records as required
  • Work as part of a team to provide high-quality care

Personal Characteristics:

  • Diploma in Health and Social Care or willingness to work towards one
  • Experience in supporting adults with challenging behaviour, learning disabilities, and/or mental health issues
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Confidence to work alone or as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Passion to work with vulnerable adults
  • Commitment to achieving high standards of safeguarding

CareTech Community Services Ltd is a provider of specialist social care services supporting 5000 adults with various needs in over 300 services across the UK. We are committed to delivering the highest standards of care and governance, providing innovative care pathways for individuals to live in community settings with learning disabilities, severe physical disabilities, autistic spectrum disorder, challenging behaviour, mental health, forensic needs, and acquired brain injury.

Successful candidates will be required to complete an enhanced DBS disclosure prior to commencement of employment, with the disclosure expense met by the employer.
