Support Students with Special Educational Needs

Teaching Personnel is seeking an Educational Healthcare Assistant to work with students with Special Educational Needs in leading SEN schools across Lancashire.

About the Role:

As an Educational Healthcare Assistant, you will provide tailored support to students with various needs, including physical, emotional, and learning challenges. You will work closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to create a safe and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Personalised Care: Assist with daily living activities, ensuring the well-being of each student.
  • Support Learning: Assist in the classroom, working one-on-one or in small groups to facilitate learning and engagement.
  • Collaborate with Staff: Work alongside teachers, SENCOs, and other healthcare professionals to implement personalised strategies.
  • Monitor Progress: Keep records of students' progress and care needs, ensuring clear communication with the team.
  • Promote Independence: Encourage students to develop independence and self-confidence.

Requirements:

  • A caring and patient individual with a genuine interest in supporting students with SEN.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare or educational support role is desirable, but not essential.
  • A proactive and flexible approach, able to adapt to the unique needs of each student.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
