Job Title: Special Educational Needs Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs Support Worker to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing essential guidance, support, and encouragement to young people with Autism Spectrum Condition and associated difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build positive relationships with students and staff, creating a stable and nurturing environment.
  • Support the personal, emotional, and physical well-being of students, assisting with daily routines and administering medication when required.
  • Encourage students to develop life skills, manage their behavior, and work towards independence.
  • Work as part of a team to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of students is the top priority.
  • Participate in residential, educational, and leisure activities, fostering a supportive atmosphere.
  • Complete daily tasks, including domestic duties, and maintain a safe, clean, and enjoyable living environment.
  • Keep accurate records and reports, attend meetings, and communicate effectively with staff, students, and families.
  • Promote equality and respect, acknowledging individual differences and safeguarding students from harm or abuse.
Requirements:
  • An understanding of how young people with autism develop and learn.
  • The ability to work as part of a team, communicate effectively, and follow policies and procedures.
  • A flexible attitude towards work, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • A willingness to participate in training, develop professionally, and uphold the highest standards of care.
