Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join our AI Innovation team in Lloyds Banking Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining advanced Machine Learning models with an economic crime focus.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Machine Learning, Data Engineering, and Python programming. Experience in fraud and/or financial crime is highly desirable.

About the Role

This is a full-time position based in London or Leeds, offering a hybrid working pattern with at least two days per week spent in the office.

You will work closely with data engineering teams to guide the use of ECP data and engage with stakeholders to understand business problems and identify opportunities for data-driven solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Build and deploy advanced Machine Learning models with an economic crime focus.
  • Lead small teams in the development and maintenance of AI products serving internal and external customers.
  • Work with data engineering teams to optimize data usage and improve model performance.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify business needs and develop data-driven solutions.
Requirements
  • PhD or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Machine Learning, Data Engineering, and Python programming.
  • Experience in fraud and/or financial crime is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of scientific Python ecosystem (NumPy, Scikit-Learn, Pandas etc.).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
