Award-winning Amazon Retail Finance is seeking a highly analytical and results-driven Sr. Financial Analyst Intern to support the Consumables finance team for Japan. This exciting opportunity will enable you to utilize your strong financial skills and acumen to drive business growth and success.

This intern role acts as a trusted advisor to Category Leaders in respective business units, providing strategic financial guidance to inform key business decisions. You will deliver this through detailed financial modeling, driving business initiatives, and identifying/implementing key business indicators.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning and Analysis: Lead both multi-year business planning and annual forecasts with detailed financials for business segments and initiatives. Conduct thorough audits of business teams' assumptions and plans.
  • Market Analysis and Insights: Conduct a variety of analyses on demand, pricing, product sourcing strategy, new category or store launches, new business models, co-promotion opportunities, and other merchandising strategies.
  • Supply Chain Optimization: Design strategies to create low-cost supply chains, identify short- and long-term cost reduction opportunities, and work with the Inventory Manager to plan appropriate on-hand inventory levels.
  • Financial Close and Reporting: Partner with other finance teams and functions to develop weekly and monthly financial close activities, planning forecasting, and reporting models. Ensure continuous innovation and communication to operations and business partners.
  • Data Management: Collaborate with data source providers and technology teams to ensure accurate, automated, and timely decision-making data.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must have:

  • Currently enrolled in an MBA or equivalent master's-level program at the time of application, with a graduation date between December 2025 – September 2026
  • 3+ years of full-time industry work experience, gained between graduation from your undergraduate program and starting your MBA or Master's program
  • Business-level fluency in English and Japanese (written and verbal)
  • 3+ years' finance experience in organizations with world-class processes or consulting/financial institutions
  • Demonstrated financial acumen and analytical experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and project analysis, with data interpretation of business impact and results
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Business-level fluency in Japanese (written and verbal)
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, mathematics, business, or related field
  • 5+ years in finance roles with progressively increasing responsibility
  • Experience setting up business cases and driving financial conclusions, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Superior attention to detail and ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously

Estimated Salary: ¥80,000 - ¥120,000 per month (dependent on experience and qualifications)
