Audit Quality Role at BDO UK

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Audit Quality Specialist to join our team in the Audit Quality Directorate (AQD) at BDO UK. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality audits that meet the expectations of our clients and regulatory bodies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and assess the quality of audit work, ensuring compliance with auditing standards and firm policies.
  • Provide support to audit teams undergoing external regulator reviews, helping them navigate requirements and develop actions to address findings.
  • Collate and share examples of audit quality findings and good practice across the audit stream.
  • Assist with audit quality communications, including presenting on calls and writing newsletter articles.
  • Participate in root cause analysis investigations to identify the cause of audit quality findings.
  • Undertake ad hoc audit quality projects, including thematic reviews and reviewing audit files.
Requirements:
  • ACA or similar professional accountancy qualification.
  • Expert knowledge of UK auditing standards.
  • Good knowledge of IFRS 15 and auditing long-term contracts.
  • Experience as an audit manager, with a preference for experience in AQR scope audits.
  • Wide-ranging practical experience in applying ISAs and audit methodology.
