JSS Search is pleased to announce an opening for a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading family-owned construction business in the UK. As a family business rooted in innovation and efficiency, we are looking for a dedicated individual to play a pivotal role in continued success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build on knowledge and understanding of construction details and designs, relevant materials, and construction processes

• Responsible for sending applications to clients on a regular basis, working to tight deadlines, and maximizing revenues

• Set up an application sign-off sheet to track completion

• Maintain and send old project finishing and starting documents

• Create breakdowns of figures from applications

• Provide weekly reports on application figures

• Produce and maintain dispute sheet records, carrying out investigations into disputed items and resolving them, which may involve working with the Finance Business Partner and Operations Director

• Interpret payment certificates

• Claim contract variations via applications

• Provide pricing breakdowns and details of damage and engineer callouts as requested by customers

• Communicate with clients and internal staff, answering queries via meetings and email

• Upload application figures to the monthly sheet used for invoicing

• Liaise closely with the Accounts Team to ensure that applications are accurately invoiced

• Input data from payment schedules for the Accounts Team to reference

• Set up new projects, including project folders and gathering costs for clients

• Gather and chase relevant personnel for information for applications

• Carry out the forecast of monthly figures for the region

• Create a schedule of application dates for operations

• Set up new projects for the application process

Requirements:

• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail

• Knowledge of construction contracts and regulations

• Ability to work with new software systems, such as SYNRIX, which manages the rental fleet operationally and commercially

This role will be largely office-based, with an element of travel to customer sites when required and the opportunity to work from home when needed.
