Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Mental Health Charge Nurse to join our team at Nurslink in North London. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with the NHS trust, supporting them in delivering high-quality patient care.

About the Role

As a key member of the multi-disciplinary team, you will be responsible for deputizing the ward manager in their absence and working independently to develop and coordinate individual patient care plans. You will supervise, teach, and instruct junior staff, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide excellent care.

The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of the Mental Health Act 1983 and be able to ensure that patients are fully informed of their legal position and rights. They will also be responsible for administering medication in accordance with the NMC Code of Conduct and locally agreed policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • To observe the requirements of the Mental Health Act 1983 and ensure that patients are fully informed of their legal position and rights.
  • To determine nursing priorities and plan patient care accordingly, including full risk assessment and informing the Ward Manager of any changes that may affect standards of care.
  • To participate as an effective member of the MDT and be responsible for the development and implementation of a patient-centered approach to care, assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the care needs of patients and their carers.
  • To administer medication in accordance with the NMC Code of Conduct and locally agreed policies, having a thorough knowledge of medication used in the treatment of mental health and providing information regarding medication, treatment, dosage, and side effects to patients, relatives, and carers.

Requirements and Qualifications

Essential:
  • Registered nurse with a current NMC pin.
  • Relevant Nursing qualifications.
  • 6 months recent experience RNMH.
  • 2 clinical references that cover 3 years of work experience.
