Advanced Social Care Professional

At South Gloucestershire Council, our social workers play a vital role in supporting children and young people who have experienced adversity. As a key member of our team, you will work collaboratively with families to help them achieve their goals and aspirations.
Key Responsibilities:- Work with children and young people in care, including those with complex needs and those who are Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children (UASC)
- Develop and implement individualized plans to support children and young people to achieve their goals and aspirations
- Work in partnership with families, equipping them with the skills and knowledge they need to ensure their children live in happy, healthy, and safe homes
- Travel to a range of locations within the authority to visit children and young people in their placements
- A qualified social worker with relevant registration to practice and a good understanding of asset and strengths-based approaches to social work
- A problem solver, confident about making important decisions, underpinned by a genuine passion to work collaboratively with children, young people, and families
- Innovation, positivity, and dedication, with a willingness to welcome challenge and embrace change
- Specialist knowledge of the relevant services, including latest service developments, legislation, regulations, and codes of practice
Please note that due to the nature of this role, an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is required. You will also need to have a current driving license and access to a suitable vehicle insured for business use.
