Pupil Absence Manager

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Pupil Absence Manager to join our team at Austin Fraser. As a Pupil Absence Manager, you will play a key role in reducing absence levels and promoting punctuality among students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Attendance Officer to ensure accurate daily attendance registers and follow up on discrepancies.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/carers regarding unexplained absences and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Manage absence procedures, including sending letters home and liaising with external agencies.
  • Analyse detailed attendance reports to identify trends and patterns requiring attention from school leaders.
  • Provide targeted support for vulnerable student groups, working closely with school leaders to develop effective interventions.
  • Lead regular check-ins to review the effectiveness of attendance improvement strategies.

The successful candidate will have proven experience in an educational setting, preferably with direct involvement in attendance management. They will also possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and proficiency in using IT systems, particularly Excel.

Benefits:

The salary for this position is £23,174 - £24,629 per annum, plus 5 INSET days and opportunities for professional development and training.
