OBM People is seeking a skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to lead and deliver key electrical engineering projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical distribution, control, and protection schemes, as well as mechanical processes and process design.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the integrity and delivery of electrical engineering work, focusing on defined scope, compliance, and safety requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineers, functional managers, and subcontractors to progress deliverables and address queries.
  • Serve as the technical point of contact with customers, providing feedback, clarifying scope, and managing technical risks.
  • Support proposals with concept design, load schedules, and engineering time estimates.
  • Review project scope, contracts, and specifications, executing these deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Highlight and manage technical risks, ensuring compliance with safety objectives and legal requirements.
  • Generate and maintain key project documentation such as load schedules, data sheets, and design documents.
  • Select control panels, MCCs, PLCs, and field equipment ensuring compliance with process and environmental conditions.
  • Manage subcontracted design work, ensuring timely execution of engineering deliverables.
  • Conduct regular gap analysis and design reviews to ensure project completeness and integrity.
Requirements:
  • HNC in Electrical and/or Controls Engineering.
  • Proven experience leading a team of electrical engineers in a contract environment, with a focus on material handling systems.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical distribution, control, and protection schemes, as well as mechanical processes and process design.
  • Familiarity with current legislative requirements, IET Wiring Regulations, CE/UKCA regulations, and design risk assessments.
  • Experience in value engineering processes, ATEX regulations, and equipment selection.
