We are seeking an experienced Learning Mentor to provide maternity cover for a Fixed Term contract at MidKent College.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will work as part of our team to plan and deliver a wide range of extra-curricular activities for learners with EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans) to meet their specified outcomes. This role aims to facilitate greater independence, enabling learners in receipt of high needs funding and those with declared support needs to access learning opportunities effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized plans to meet the needs of learners with EHCPs.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure seamless integration of extra-curricular activities into the curriculum.
  • Foster a supportive environment that promotes learner autonomy, confidence, and self-advocacy skills.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • A strong understanding of EHCPs and their implications on learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with learners, teachers, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve shared goals.
Benefits

MidKent College offers a competitive salary package, including:

  • £35,000 - £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience), based on 37 hours per week.
