We are seeking a skilled and caring professional to join our team at Orchard Care Homes, a leading provider of care services. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about delivering high-quality food and excellent customer service.
Job Summary:
This is a part-time position, working 29 hours per week. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting the Home Manager and care staff in creating nutritious and balanced meals that cater to the individual needs of our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise a dedicated team to prepare daily meals, manage food orders, stock levels, and maintain vital equipment.
- Ensure the kitchen is fit for purpose and able to complete the daily meals on time, following food safety guidelines.
- Plan, prepare, and cook a variety of meals that are appealing and nutritious, catering to individual preferences and dietary requirements.
- Comply with all statutory and legal requirements, including HACCP, Health & Safety, and Infection Prevention and Control policies.
- Implement and maintain cleaning schedules that meet the requirements of the Food Safety Manual.
- Order and receive food stocks from approved suppliers and ensure stock rotation for freshness.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of texture modified diets and food allergens, as well as creating specific meal plans to suit individuals' needs.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
