The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the finance team and key components of the operational finance within the business, reporting to the Finance Director. This role is a key part of our division's long-term development plan and there are opportunities to evolve and develop as the Group grows.

The Financial Controller will oversee the delivery of the monthly management reporting and variance analysis to the Board, providing insightful commentary to highlight any key trends, risk, and opportunities. They will also be responsible for day-to-day accounting operations, including reviewing agency funding and key control accounts, supervising and managing financial department staff, and ensuring adherence to and continued development of the internal control environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, with experience in managing financial teams and implementing financial systems. They will also have excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels with both financial and non-financial stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the delivery of the monthly management reporting and variance analysis to the Board.
  • Review agency funding and key control accounts.
  • Supervise and manage financial department staff.
  • Ensure adherence to and continued development of the internal control environment.
  • Liaise with agency customers.
  • Assist the Finance Director in the preparation of business forecasts.
Requirements
  • Qualified ACA/CIMA.
  • Positive, self-motivated, and able to work effectively without close supervision.
  • Highly organised/structured approach, with the ability to co-ordinate many tasks simultaneously and to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels with both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
