Financial Controller Opportunity

Think Accountancy and Finance is supporting a long-standing partner in their search for a Financial Controller to join their team in Otley, West Yorkshire.

This is a key hire for the finance team, and the ideal candidate will be a qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA accountant with experience in managing finance teams and overseeing operational finance within a business.

The role will involve bringing together and consolidating 4 businesses over the next 12-18 months, with key responsibilities including:

  • Monthly management reporting for 8 companies
  • Variance analysis and insightful commentary
  • Overseeing day-to-day accounting operations
  • Reviewing key control accounts
  • Supervising and managing financial staff at various levels
  • Overseeing billing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable
  • Overseeing the monthly staff payroll
  • Overseeing the audit process and liaising with auditors
  • Implementing bespoke business-critical systems

The successful candidate will be a positive, self-motivated individual with strong interpersonal skills, able to work effectively without close supervision. Experience with Sage and Xero would be beneficial.

The role will be full-time office-based, with the successful candidate managing a team and building strong working relationships with them. Please note that the office is not easily accessible by public transport.
